The South Carolina Horsemen’s Council is proud to announce the upcoming Horse Expo to be held February 14, 2015 at the South Carolina Equine Park in Camden, SC. South Carolina Dept. of Agriculture, Assistant Commissioner Agricultural Services Division, Martin Eubanks will kick off the event at 9:30 with information about the impact of the equine industry for South Carolina as well as introduce the South Carolina Heritage Horse and presentation of Colors.
With demonstrators like the South Carolina Mounted Shooters showing off their horsemanship and target skills in the fastest growing equine sport, the Cedar Swamp Lancers taking us back in time as they perform period accurate lancing demonstrations and the Entertaining Side of Drafts trick riding with John D. Winslow, there is sure to be something for everyone.
There are lots of activities planned for the youth, including youth challenge games for prizes and face painting.
As a part of the Council’s mission to provide equine related education, the Horse Health Pavilion will host clinics all day with equine chiropractic and acupuncture with Dawn Graham, equine dentistry with Scott Wilson and hoof care with master farrier Mike Stine.
If that still isn’t enough, there will be horse Behavioral Analysis all throughout the day with Belton, SC's own Mike Kinsey, Reining demonstrations and Clinics with Champion Steven Marbry of Gray Court, SC, and SCDTA and USEF certified Judge Valerie Swygert of Lexington, SC will be providing Dressage demonstrations. Add to that a full day of trail riding and overcoming obstacle training with a Lead Start ‘em Right trainer, Lori Childress and there is sure to be something for everyone.
To add to the enjoyment of the day, take you and your special Valentine on one of our free carriage rides, provided by Palmetto Carriage, and stop by vendor village for a wealth of information on horse care as well as countless horse related equipment, supplies, trainers, tack, clothing and bling for you and your horse. Don’t forget to check out the great deals at the silent auction of horse related gift items.
Our vision is to introduce every man, woman and child to the joys horses provide. “Each and every person should feel the tenderness of a horse’s nose.”
The SCHC is a Non-Profit 501(c)3, all volunteer organization dedicated improving equine health and education throughout the state as well as providing annual scholarships to deserving young adults.
The Expo presents an excellent venue for you to promote your business; your organization; your farm; or yourself while helping your SC Horsemen's Council.
Meet our 2015 vendors.
