Many Horsemen “Shared Our Passion” at the 2014 SC Horsemen’s Council Equine Expo

The South Carolina Horsemen’s Council Equine Expo held February 8th at the S.C. Equine Park in Camden was filled with horse activities, demonstrations and clinics. The Equine Expo was geared to please everyone from back-yard riders to professionals to children. Expo had presenters from Trick Riders to Cattle Sorting, Equine Dentist to Barn Fire Prevention. We would like to send a special Thank You to Perfect Partners Equine for filling in in the absence of Medieval Times. Our highlight was Rescue Lane & Breed Boulevard where our guests were able to interact with horses.

The Marsh Tacky SC state horse was a hit! This year’s raffle gelding, “Southern Brawn,” was shown by Rachel Post.  Last year’s SCHC raffle filly, “Mercy Southern Dream,” was present with her new owner, Lacie Earhart. Since our Expo, Rachel & Brawn has gone on to win many blue ribbons………. For more details on purchasing tickets for a chance to win “Southern Brawn,” visit Marsh Tacky Raffle or call 803.230.8810.  Be sure to get them before they are gone.

The vision of South Carolina Horsemen’s Council is to introduce every man, woman and child to the joys horses provide. As a part of that vision, we will provide a viable source for everyone to share the common bond of horsemanship and carry our collective interests to all communities and bodies of legislature. We further vow to bring to bear our full and collective resources to achieve these goals.
“Each and every person should feel the tenderness of a horse’s nose.”

The fun doesn’t stop at the Expo! Visit our website to find SCHC activities that will be going on around the state and information on joining the Council.

Keep in mind next year’s Expo. This event is not only fun to visit, it is an excellent way for you to promote your business, your organization, your farm or yourself while helping your SC Horsemen's Council.

SCHC is a 501(c)3 statewide, all volunteer organization. Your help supports our activities such as the annual youth scholarship program, the stallions to geldings’ project, trail mapping and the Horse Welfare-Horse Help Hotline.
Happy Trails,
Wanda Wood - Expo Chairman
